• caffeinate Now, your Mac will stay awake for as long as you leave the Terminal running. To stop this, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C
• caffeinate -t 1800 & Here 1800 is the time in seconds. You can set it to anything. Now your Mac will stay awake for this time duration

The above commands run as long as you leave the Terminal app running.

Using Third-party Apps

1. Download Amphetamine from the Mac App Store.

4. Click on Indefinitely. Now you Mac will never sleep.

STEP 1. Prepare your Mac for installation

Normally, it is assumed that updating OS is a one-way road. That's why going back to a past Apple OS version is problematic. The main challenge is to download the OS installation file itself, because your Mac may already be running a newer version. 1. Start your Mac holding down Command + R.
